Ziva retrospective....

We are confined to the house as the remnants of Hurricane Andres are going through our mountains. Cold and rainy.  Some thunder.  Love the sound of the rain on the skylights, but I'm worried about the garden and all this water its receiving.   Anyway, I guess now is a good time to get caught up on some of Ziva's goings-on...

Know how I'd wished she would learn to kill gophers and bring them to me for a hotdog?...

Well, recently, when some friends were up, she actually pulled one from a hole. It was a stupid gopher, so I wonder if it grew up parentless.  It just stuck it's head out of it's hole and she grabbed it.  She didn't seem to know what to do with it, but we praised her greatly.  We persuaded her to give it to us for a hotdog and disposed of it.  She hasn't gotten the correlation between gopher and hotdog yet.  Now, if she can get another one it may sink in.

We recently decided to let Ziva have run the house when we went to the store. She's usually been in her carrier when we left the house, mostly because she was a puppy and not good with bladder control.   She's almost 2 now, so we thought she might've been better.  Nope!  She had a meltdown.  As my youngest son said, "You didn't like those blinds anyway, did you?"

Since this picture, we have left her alone with run of the house.  Now, all blinds are up and all doors are closed.  The arcadia door is wide open so she can see outside.  She's not done any more destructive things since.

Here she is surveying her domain.  She usually takes her "squeaker" wherever she is.  This is her squeaker du jour.   They don't last long.  She wants that squeaker out IMMEDIATELY.

Well, hoping for better weather this weekend.   Then, we have the remnants of Hurricane Blanca to swim through.....
