Mmmmmm.....

Effie...  Just kidding!!
She is still with us, but I couldn't resist.
I'm crazy like that.

This week I decided to get my last turkey out of the freezer and make some casseroles to freeze.  After all, the turkey sales will be starting soon and I need the room for more.  It's thundering and raining like crazy outside, so it seems the perfect day to get this done.

I love making stuffing.  I'm afraid I've never liked anyone's except mine.  It took me years to get it down to a science.  Craisins, pecans, crushed pineapple, drippings; all along with the usual onions and celery.   Mmmm.  It's a great topping for the casseroles.

Using a stock photo here, but this is exactly what I'm doing.  It's a quick 6 meals for the two of us and we look forward to each, and every, one of them.

Back to Effie... I'm hearing from all sorts of people and they are all backing her.
One wants her sent to Minnesota.  One (and Steve) wants me to give her away. It can't be to another chicken person, as the problem will continue there.  I suppose it could be where she is an only child who lays eggs.

People, it's not like I want to end her existence, but she tries to eat the other's eggs.  If I keep her she'll need to be in the "time-out" pen every day.  She mopes when in it, so I know she'll not be happy living like that.

One other asked me to do a poll on what I should do.  I guess I can do that.  In the end I'll have to make the hard decision, but let's not go there, yet.

So, use the comment line at the bottom of this post and let me know what you think. (Move your curser over comments; it may say no comments, or have a number.  You must click on PUBLISH to make sure your comment gets to me).

Thanks.

  1. Save Effie; I like the idea of her being given to a family as an only child. I'm certain she would thrive and Steve would sleep better at night :)
