YIKES!! Deadly blue fire... everywhere....

You'd think that with all the snow and rain around that we'd have plenty of moisture in the air.  NOPE!  Can't touch anything in the house without setting off pain from a spark the size of a cat.  This part of mountain life has always puzzled me.

                            ********************************

We've actually been busy up here as we were trying to get some planting done before the latest snow storms arrived.  PLANTING?!!  Yes, I heard that from here. Just before Christmas, we received some trees...

... which came from the Arbor Day Foundation.  We donate to them and this was a gift for doing that.  They arrived just before we headed down to the valley, so they've been vegging in the refrigerator until we were ready to plant them. Supposedly they arrive when it's optimal to plant them.  I am wondering about that as the ground is frozen here.  Anyway, we got the job done with minimal work from me and maximum work from Steve...

Washing the hydrating gel off and separating roots...

Ten little blue spruce trees getting hydrated in water...

Steve trying to dig a hole in frozen ground...

Steve resorting to a pick to dig a hole in frozen ground...

Once through the freeze and some decent dirt found.
One baby in and 9 to go.....

Good thing it's done, as here is one of the little guys
in the current snowstorm...

We're inside and watching the snow come down.  The trek outside to get the picture of the little tree was about as much work as I'm likely to do for a few days....

... I'd do more, but it might involve touching something that will set off another spark... and more shrieking.
